The ArtBomb Company

The Art Bomb art studios held its grand opening exhibition Thursday, February 20, 2003.

The Art Bomb Company is a non-profit organization that provides working studio space for local Greenville artists and seeks to promote visual arts in the South Carolina Upstate area. The studio is housed in the historic Brandon Mill General Store in West Greenville. Approximately sixteen artists currently work in this space including potters, photographers, painters and metalsmiths.

At left: one of the studios in the early stages. Several of the artists began work in their studios while doing double duty contributing to the renovation.

A view of the Art Bomb Company building during renovation, 2002. The building, renovated entirely by the artists, served as the company store for Brandon Mill, where baseball legend Shoeless Joe Jackson worked and played baseball. The Shoeless Joe Memorial Ballpark is just a few blocks away.

The artists include: Diane Kilgore-Condon, Greg Flint, Paul Flint, Marybeth Kirk, Teri Peña, Donna Shank, Doug Smith, Rebecca Stockham, Alexia Timberlake, Katie Walker.
