The Gassaway Mansion

Greenville's Gassaway Mansion was completed in 1925, built in part by stones from the old Vardry McBee grist mill that dates back to 1776 (additional stones were brought in and treated to match). In the fall of 1958, The Greenville Art Association took the first steps toward purchasing the former Gassaway estate, and made the final payment on the reduced price of $68,000.00 in April 1960.
