Sauer Building / Wyche Pavilion Top photo: The C.F. Sauer Building on the bank of the Reedy River, view from the bridge on Main Street. This building is now called The Wyche Pavilion (behind the Peace Center). This photo was taken around 1990-91, just before construction began on The Peace Center for the Performing Arts. Bottom photo: The C.F. Sauer Building again, as it looked around 1999, view from the bridge on Main Street. The building, The Wyche Pavilion (located behind the Peace Center for the Performing Arts) is where Dukes Mayonnaise was first produced. Eugenia Duke, of Greenville SC, created Dukes Mayonnaise in 1917. You may now follow Duke Mayonnaise on Twitter at @DukesMayo As summer of 2009 rolls in it's about time for the third photo, showing this spot at three dates ten years apart. My, how things have changed. Greenville area photos main list © 2009 greenvillesouth.com --gs
