If the street has been built up so much over the years and the buildings stayed where they were, how come you don't have to step down off the street to get inside the buildings? Those are pieces of trolley car rails are in the foreground.

Private galas were held Friday, October 20 & Saturday, October 21. The hotel opened to the public on Sunday, October 22, 2000.
